PAYware Mobile FAQ

Q: What is needed before a merchant can start taking payments with PAYware Mobile?
A: In addition to a merchant account, the merchant must purchase the PAYware mobile
product. The merchant will need an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4G or iPod touch and will need to
download the PAYware application which is available for free through Apples’ App Store. The
optional Card Encryption Sleeve, is currently available only for 3G and 3GS phones, and is
required to qualify for card–swiped (vs. key-entered) transaction rates.

Q: What type of iPhone models does PAYware Mobile support? Does PAYware Mobile
support the iPod touch?

A: At this time PAYware mobile is supported on the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4G and iPod touch . Note
that the Card Encryption sleeve is only compatible with the iPhone 3G and 3GS. The iPhone
4G and iPod touch only support key-entered transactions.

Q: Is PAYware Mobile compatible with iPhone 4G?
A: The iPhone 4G is compatible with PAYware mobile, but CANNOT currently use VeriFone’s
PAYware Mobile Card Encryption Sleeve. The iPhone 4G is still a great solution for keyentered
transactions. A sleeve that is compatible with the iPhone 4G, is expected to be
available from VeriFone during Q1 2011.

Q: PAYware Mobile is currently offered only for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4G or iPod touch. Are
there plans to offer the solution on other devices such as BlackBerry, Android or Windows
Mobile?

A: VeriFone understands the need to offer PAYware Mobile on other smart phone platforms.
They plan to bring the solution to Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and Android in the future.

Q: What payment types does the application support?

A: The PAYware Mobile application supports credit card and signature debit (“check” card)
transactions. It does not support PIN transactions, ECS transactions or EGC transactions.

Q: Is the PAYware Mobile payment application secure?

A: Yes. PAYware Mobile is validated against the PCI SSC’s (PCI Security Standards Council)
strict regulations. The PAYware Mobile software application is PA DSS 1.2 (Payment
Application Data Security Standards) approved by the PCI SSC.

Q: Can I print a receipt for the customer?

A: PAYware Mobile does not include a receipt printer. However you can easily configure
customized receipts to be emailed to your customers. A record of the transaction is accessible
in the application and on the PAYware Connect online portal.

Q: Can I include a tip with a sale?

A: Cashier Tip functionality is supported and adding a tip is easy. You can enter a specific
amount or the application can calculate the tip based on a percentage of the sale.

Q: What about sales tax?
A: PAYware Mobile includes the ability to specify what tax percent to use for each sale. This
can be changed on the go, since tax rates vary from place to place.

Q: What happens if a call is received during a transaction?

A: When a call is received during a transaction, the user will be prompted to answer or decline
the call. After the user completes the call, they are prompted to reenter their password for
the application and the transaction can be resumed.

Q: Who is supporting the PAYware Mobile product?

A: Helpdesk support for the PAYware Mobile product will be provided by VeriFone. VeriFone’s
helpdesk number is 1.800.839.0947. Elavon will support the merchant on all funding and
billing questions as normal.

Q: How are merchants trained to set up and use PAYware Mobile?

A: Once the set up is complete for PAYware Mobile the merchant will receive a Welcome email
from VeriFone containing information and instructions regarding how to set up and use the
PAYware Mobile product. This email will also contain contact information for VeriFone’s
helpdesk should a merchant have any questions.

Q: How do I order PAYware Mobile for my merchant?

A: You can order the PAYware Mobile product like any other POS product you sell by entering
the information in the Point of Sale section of your merchant application or additional
equipment services form. Note that if you also want a card reader, it needs to be ordered as
a separate piece of equipment. The Item Codes and Product Descriptions are as follows:
PAYware Mobile – Item Code: PAYMB; Product Description: PAYware Mobile
Card Encryption Sleeve/Reader – Item Code: PAYCR; Product Description: PAYware Mobile Card

Q: How long will it take a merchant to be set up with PAYware Mobile?

A: Once a merchant is approved their set up details will be sent to VeriFone where the
PAYware Mobile product will be set up. The PAYware welcome email will be sent 24 to 48
hours from merchant approval — longer times may occur due to weekends and holidays. The
Card reader will follow normal Elavon hardware deployment timeframes.

Q: What are the Elavon PCI requirements for merchants using PAYware Mobile?
A: Merchants using PAYware Mobile are subject to non-IP Elavon PCI requirements and any
related costs.
